Meet Our Team

Sara and Dogs_edited.jpg

Sara has been providing professional animal care since 2008. She moved to New Mexico in 2018 and renamed her business after Rendija, the beautiful canyon in her backyard. When she is not hiking, Sara serves on the board of Friends of Shelter & Companion Animals (www.lafos.org), a nonprofit providing medical care and spay/neutering of companion and homeless animals in north central New Mexico. She also enjoys hiding for Search & Rescue dogs and helping with rescue transport, which is how she adopted her 2nd Husky while en route to Jailbreak Husky Rescue in Colorado! She is mom to 2 Huskies: Hades (5) and Ricochet (4) and 2 cats: Titus (16) and Amina (18). Sara earned her Masters of Fine Arts from American University in 2011. She recently completed the Fear Free Shelters program as well as a Human Resources Generalist certificate.

Tina has been a member of the Rendija team for 3 1/2 years as a walker, sitter & On-Call Manager when needed. She has her degree in Early Childhood Education and has been teaching for nearly 30 years. She recently retired from teaching Preschool. Tina lived in Southern California for 50 years, but visited New Mexico often as a child and fell in love with the land of enchantment. After her divorce, she decided to move to NM to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and be closer to her father, sister and brothers. Tina has 4 children: Cody, 30; Charlyn, 29; Matthew, 27; and Chris, 25. The younger boys still live in Southern California; her daughter lives and works in Big Sur and Cody lives in La Joya, a small hippie community between Truchas and Penasco. As a child, Tina would rescue small animals and then release them back into their natural environments. She comes to us with a great love for animals and spends as much time volunteering at the stables as she can. Tina has 2 fur babes of her own: Nala, a shepherd mix and Moe, a black lab/ border collie mix; and one grand fur babe Leo.

Amelia is our Assistant Manager and also helps with dog walks, hikes, and pet sitting visits. She loves all animals and has been around them her entire life. Currently, she isn't able to have any pets of her own because she is busy wrangling 4 kiddos and a husband. That's why she loves her job and being able to spend time with animals. She worked for over three years at an emergency vet hospital in Albuquerque and gained lots of knowledge and experience during her time there. Currently, she has a piano studio in her home and has over 30 students. She is getting her Masters in Education. She loves spending time with her family, reading, binge watching shows, hiking and getting wet kisses from the animals she gets to be with.
